Hello! My name is Hitomi Sumita. I was born and raised in Sado Island, and I’m a Sado City Licensed Guide Interpreter.
I love traveling abroad to see what I’ve never seen. Thanks to local guides in each place, I was able to have valuable life experiences. That’s one reason I want to be one of them. Here in Sado Island, I have shown foreign and Japanese tourists around as a volunteer guide.
Sado Island, to me, is like a secret treasure box. It’s closely packed with dynamic nature and history, unique traditional fine arts and performing arts, delicious seafood and so on. It is off-the-beaten-track, but worth seeing and experiencing.
